an usher made my day :) June 30, 2007

An usher made my day. Haha… I went to expo for service alone after cell cos the rest were at jac’s house singing karaoke with two new friends and I was supposed to have bible study with sarah after service today.

So on the way, I smsed many people to find a companion to sit with during service, but to no avail. Then my friend smsed me to say that she couldn’t make it for bs and service today. So I felt a little angry cos I was tired, going to be late for service and I probably wouldn’t have gone for service if she’d smsed me earlier, but decided to just make the best out of it since I was already at Tanah Merah. Remembered that going for service is going for God, not for friends or convenience.

So went into service slightly late and in a not-too-good mood. On the way in, as you know the ushers would ask whether you need seats and how many and stuff, so I just raised one finger at an usher and said “one seat”. One usher looked happy and escorted me to the left, second row terrace, one seat. She looked as I got into the seat and gave a thumbs-up as if she was asking, “Is the seat good?” I smiled and gave her a thumbs-up back. Hahaha. She really amused me, made my day :)

Oh and service was good. I mean, I think they rushed a bit too much, didn’t flow very well but Dr Peter Wagner was good. He looked like Colonel Sanders :P But when he spoke about the marketplace again (he insisted on calling it workplace), it sounded like a whole new message. It’s faith-building. And we actually ended on time, right on the dot, 7.30pm today.

Then Sarah gave me bs for lesson 3 FT1. She’s so nice haha. Answered my questions, allowed me to ask them while she was giving bs. She said she prefered it to be interactive haha. And it’s good, God spoke to me through bs again, as He always does when I get one-on-one or two-on-one bs.

I really think I’m very blessed to be in my cell, in this sub-zone, in YK zone. The standard is just so high, I’ve never seen such people before. Pauline’s a great leader, the best :)

Falling
2007 City Harvest Church, Singapore

Find me in Your holiness
Lead me in Your righteousness
How I love You
Beautiful Savior

When I’m weak You make me strong
Bearing my cross I carry on
How I need You
Heavenly Father

Search my heart O Lord
You know my every thought
An open book to You
I place my all in Your hands

Falling at Your feet
As my whole world fades away
Falling at Your feet
Let my life be wholly Thine
My life be wholly Thine
Jesus

Emmanuel, Emmanuel
Abba Father never let me go

Whooo…I think I’ve just discovered a new hobby…shopping! Just went shopping with audrey after service and bought some nice new stuff :D Especially like my new jacket hahaha whooooo…

First time at chorus board today! It was exciting and really interesting…learnt a lot of new stuff today. The people are quite funny :P Service was also very good today. Even though I was in the container behind the terraces, and I don’t know what God’s presence feels like, but I must have felt it today. It’s just so powerful, it makes me just want to say, ” Yes Lord, I really want a pure heart, because it’s just so tiring having a divided one, and there’s no one else I’d rather serve besides You.”

I love being in the house of the Lord :)

Singapore Expo is almost like my second home now. I’ve been going there everyday since last saturday and will keep going there until this sunday. I’m working at the IT fair which made us move from Hall 8 to Hall 1 :P It’s only open to people in the trade so people can only enter if they have a pass. Have to wear formal office-wear. The pay is good.

Man I’m so tired. Think I lost my stamina already after sleeping and stoning so much. I work from 10am-6pm, from tues to fri, so I have to spend most of my time standing around looking out for people who stop by the booth. I smile, help take brochures for them or direct them to my boss if they ask too complicated questions. Before yesterday, I didn’t know what company I’d be working for. Googled it just before bedtime last night and found out that it was a satellite operator company based in paris. That’s all I knew about it today. It’s called Eutelsat communications. The booth is in the middle of all the satellite operator companies.

The temp staff (I think it was a temp cos she looked around my age) opposite my booth had a better time than me. She could drink soft drinks and eat the food catered by that company’s booth :P So lucky hahaha. Wish she offered me some. Hahaha.

It’s 1 and a half hours there and back by bus. I’ve bus concession so I take bus all the way there and back. Was bus-sick on the way back, almost died :P Had to make sure I didn’t vomit in the bus, nearly did. Rah… But thank God I slept a bit after a while. I think I slept because I can’t remember a portion of the bus journey. Reached home at 8pm. Means I took almost 2 hours to get back! What was the bus doing… Rah….

Hope I survive the next 3 days. Time passed so extremely slowly today, can’t believe it. :P

There’s honestly very little I can do when I’m sick. I can’t go out much because I can’t walk very far, I can’t exercise, I can’t eat nice food, I can’t talk, I can’t read or stare at the computer screen for too long because I’ll start heating up, don’t know why. So I just sleep and lie in bed til 2 or 3 plus in the afternoon. Then do things slowly. Haha. I stone a lot. Didn’t used to stone, now stoning comes naturally. Whooo…

last bus! / end of POS June 1, 2007

I caught the bus! The last bus from clementi. Took a chartered bus back from expo after emerge session 4, and the bus driver didn’t stop at queenstown station as it was supposed to, because the bus driver said we didn’t press the bell. I was like… WHAT?! Chartered bus also need to press bell???

Right… decided that I shouldn’t complain to God cos there never was any use doing that, even though I was really mad. When the bus got to clementi, I got off and ran all the way to the bus interchange only to see my bus 165 leaving the interchange. 11.45pm, last bus. I ran wildly after it and reached it as it was queuing up to go out of the interchange. I waved to the bus driver and I was so relieved when he let me up on the bus with a smile. Haha. Praise the Lord!

If I had got on a later chartered bus and made the same mistake, or if I didn’t run all the way to the interchange, I wouldn’t have caught the bus. Haha.

POS is over. We didn’t get into the top 3 after being 2nd for 3 years. First time I joined POS. Oh well, doesn’t matter. I didn’t join to win. Joined it to get to know more NUS harvesters, and I did. Now I see them all around church. Haha. :)
